Government announces plans to make requesting flexible

Under the new proposals, the UK workers will have more choice over when and where they work which should make the right for a flexible working a day one entitlement. The government is also planning to cover one weeks’ unpaid leave by introducing a day one right that will help in balancing a job with careers and caring responsibilities. These plans will make more productive businesses to accommodate both employee and employer needs.

The consultation also looks at an employer who has to consider the request that will cut the current three-month period an employer has to consider any request. The employers will need to think about the alternates they can offer if they cannot accommodate a request
